2012 Coaching Change: Fort Worth Arlington Heights Yellow Jackets
Old Head Coach: Ged Kates — Leaving for 5A Richland. He led the Yellow Jackets to a 19-4 record over the last 2 seasons. His other coaching jobs have been an assistant with Richland in 2000, assistant with Euless Trinity from 2001-2003, offensive coordinator at Grand Prairie from 2004-2007 and offensive coordinator for the Yellow Jackets from 2008-2009. His brother Matt, is the head coach at 3A La Grange.
New Head Coach: Todd Whitten -- Was the offensive coordinator at Lamar University. Before that he was a head coach at Sam Houston State University going 25-28 and at Tarleton State University going 40-18. He has also been an assistant at Texas Tech, New Mexico State, Texas-El Paso and Wyoming University.
Team News: The Yellow Jackets have had winning seasons 10 of last 11 years. They will be moving to District 7-4A from 6-4A with the last UIL re-alignment. The other schools in the district will be Aledo, Fort Worth South Hills, Fort Worth Southwest, Fort Worth Trimble Tech, Fort Worth Western Hills, Fort Worth Wyatt and Granbury.
