Burleson Promotes Offensive Coordinator, Gary McElroy

2012 Coaching Change: Burleson Elks
Old Head Coach: Jason Tucker -- Leaving to be the defensive coordinator at Saginaw Chisolm Trail. He led the Elks to a 11-10 record over the last 2 seasons. This was his first head coaching position. Before taking over he was an assistant for 3 years with the Elks. He was also an assistant coach at Southlake Carroll.
New Head Coach: Gary McElroy -- Was the Elks offensive coordinator. Only other head coaching position was at 2A Nocona going 21-20. He has been an assistant at Keller and Aledo.
Team News: The most wins in a season for the Elks over the last 10 years is 8 (2002 and 2006). They will be moving to District 8-4A from 7-4A with the last UIL re-alignment. The other schools in the district will be Burleson Centennial, Cleburne, Crowley, Everman, Joshua, Waco and Waco University.
