2012 Coaching Change: Friona Chieftains
Old Head Coach: Mike Herbert -- Leaving to be an assistant at Lubbock Monterey. He led the Chieftains for the past 4 years to a 20-24 record.
New Head Coach: Mike Prokop -- From 1A Farwell where he led the Steers to a 19-6 record over 2 seasons.
Team News: The Chieftains have now had back to back 3-7 seasons. They will be staying in District 1-2A Division I with the last UIL re-alignment. The other schools in the district will be Bushland, Childress, Dimmitt, Littlefield and Muleshoe.
