- Mike Says: The Eagles will be in the chase for the state championship this year. with the return of QB Kogan Garrett they will feature a high scoring offense. Their defense will not be bad either with the return of 7 starters that includes all-state DL Glass and DB Jason Washington. Pre-District games against Top 5 2A DI Cameron Yoe and Top 10 3A Navasota will be great games to watch. Rogers, Schulenburg and Blanco provide great matchups in district play. Look for them to go 8-2 or 9-1 in the regular season and a trip to the semifinals. Refugio will probably be the matchup in the semifinals for the 3rd year in a row. The Eagles have the best shot at knocking off Refugio.
- Chris Says: Lexington will be the class of 14-DA DII once again and they look to avenge their embarrassing loss to Refugio in the playoffs. That game was revenge for the Bobcats loss to these Eagles the year before. This is a tradition that looks to continue as both teams are once again tops in their district. There regular season schedule is no cake walk, however. The Cameron Yoe game will be a good test to see how ready they are as a team and the games against Navasota and Rogers should provide a lot of fireworks.
