  • Mike Says: The Ricebirds have been very competitive in Class 4A over the years so there are big expectations this year. What can you expect from the Ricebirds? Expect tough defense and a good running game led by Cole Hunt and Trey Martin who are the guys up front. Look for them to battle Sealy and Bellville for the district title and finish the regular season at 7-3 or 8-2. After that they should go 2 or 3 rounds in the playoffs.
  • Chris Says: El Campo is another team that is dropping down to make Class 3A a dogfight.  The not only return a lot of experience including 5 starters on each side of the ball, but they take on a whole new district in 25-3A.  They are not going to walk all over their new opponents but they will be right there in the hunt for the district title.   Once in the playoffs, they may not even get as far as last season because Class 3A is so packed with great teams.
