* Have run into Austin Lake Travis twice now in the Quarterfinals over the past 2 seasons
* Have gone 24-4 over the last 2 seasons (3 of the losses were to Austin Lake Travis)

  • Mike Says: The Timberwolves were the one team that gave Austin Lake Travis troubles every time. Now that Austin Lake Travis have gone to 5A, they are no longer on the schedule. Their defense only gave up a little over 12.5 points per game last year but they only return 3 starters from that squad. The offense should be as strong as every with a good offensive line and a solid group of runner. They start the season out against 5A power Austin Westlake which will be a great test for them. Look for them to go 9-1 or 10-0 in the regular season and battle Leander for the district title. They will probably go Division I and Leader will also be their main competition in the region.
  • Chris Says: Cedar Park is one of those teams that always puts together a great team, but seldom are heard from late in the playoffs.  If you take away their losses to Austin Lake Travis, they have only lost ONE game in two years! As they say though, no one remembers the guy that came in second in the Olympics.  Now the Cavaliers are gone and they return a lot of lettermen from last year.  Their new coach, Joe Willis should be able to keep the Timberwolves rolling right along at the level they are accustomed as he has been the Defensive Coordinator with these Timberwolves for the past five seasons.  When he was Head Coach at Iraan, he turning in a respectable 22-12 record.  Expect Cedar Park to find their toughest challenge from Leander and once in postseason, have another good long run.
