Week 4: Highlight Games Of The Week
Rosenberg Terry 28, Rosenberg Lamar Consolidated 17
This was a battle in Rosenberg and LSG was there!! Terry started off fast behind the running of QB Kishawn McClain to take a 7-0 lead. They were on their way to a 2nd TD in the first when they fumbled at the Lamar 13 yard line. With 9:06 left in the 2nd, Lamar RB Keshon Leonard took off and showed great speed and scored from 54 yards out to tie the game up. After another Terry fumble, Leonard scored again from 22 yards out and Lamar was up 14-7. Terry had one more chance before halftime but after having it 1st and 10 at the Lamar 11 they turned the ball over on downs. Terry came out fast again in the 3rd quarter and Eugene Wright took it up the middle for 22 yards to tie the game at 14 all. In the 4th quarter, Lamar got a 52 yard field goal from K Juan Ramirez to take the lead 17-14 with 10:56 left in the game. Terry quickly responded with a 31 yard pass to superstar WR Derrick Griffin to take a 21-17 lead with 8:40 remaining. Griffin finished the night with 5 catches for 64 yards and the TD. Lamar started to drive but fumbled on their own 47 with 6:46 left. Terry used a lot of QB runs and scored the games final TD with 1:24 to go.
Coppell 27, Allen 24, OT
The Cowboys from Coppell won this battle of unbeatens. Coppell scored a touchdown during their series in overtime. When Allen had the ball they settled for a field goal after they had it set up with a 1st and goal from the 1 but where unable to get the ball across the goal line. Coppell tied the game at 21
with a 95 yard drive and a 2 point conversion with 5:03 left in the game.
Lufkin 71, A&M Consolidated 68, 4OT
The Panthers were able to finally win a 4 OT game against the Tigers from A&M Consolidated. Lufkin finished with 741 total yards while A&M Consolidated had 688. Lufkin's QB Tyler Stubblefield threw for 562 yards and 8 touchdowns. WR JaBryce Taylor finished with 14 catches for 259 yards and 2 touchdowns. The 4th quarter ended with the score tied at 45.
Dallas Skyline 56, Dallas Jesuit 24
The Raiders from Skyline jumped out to a 35-17 halftime lead and continued to increase it in the 2nd half to win in an LSG Game Of The Week. Jesuit superstar WR Jake Oliver caught 8 passes for 99 yards in the game.
Stamford 25, Cisco 20
The Bulldogs from Stamford won this match-up of last years state runner ups. It was also an LSG Game Of The Week. Stamford star QB Hagen Hutchinson went down with an injury but the backup Bo Wimberly came in and passed/ran for 212 yards. Stamford scored the games final 12 points to get the win. Stamford Head Coach Wayne Hutchinson coached in his 75th game at at Stamford during the victory.
Mesquite 33, Longview 7
The Skeeters from Mesquite made the state take notice with this convincing win which was one of our LSG Games Of The Week. Longview got behind early with 5 1st half turnovers.
Dickinson 28, Clear Falls 21
The Gators from Dickinson built a 28-7 4th quarter lead before Clear Falls scored 2 late touchdowns and threatened to score another before a Dickinson interception with 14 seconds left ended the game. This was the 24-5A opener for both teams. Gator RB Krysten Hammon ran for 100 yards on 26 carries and scored a touchdown. For the season, he now has 90 carries for 888 yards 9.87 avg. and 10 TDs.
Mission Sharyland 55, Edinburg Economedes 48
Sharyland scored a touchdown with 17 seconds left in the game to win a wild one. Less than a minute earlier Economedes had scored on a long run to tie the game. The Jaguars from Economedes led 35-21 at halftime.
Friendswood 79, Galena Park 63
Friendswood's QB Jordan Wood scored 8 TDs and rushed for 401 yards during this high scoring game. The teams combined for 1,391 yards. This was Galena Park's 850th all-time game.
Arlington Martin 38, Arlington 28
The Warriors from Martin won this 3-5A Matchup. Running back Kyle Hicks rushed for 212 yards and 4 touchdowns in the win. Arlington still leads this all-time series 20-8-1.
Cedar Park 14, Leander 10
The Timberwolves from Cedar Park built up a 14-0 lead in the 3rd quarter before Leander came back to make it a close game in one of LSG's Games Of The Week. Cedar Park has now won 5 straight games in the series and leads the all-time series 7-4.
Whitehouse 29, Carthage 27
The Wildcats from Whitehouse were able do capitalize on Carthage special team mistakes to get the win. Carthage had a safety on the kickoff and had a bad snap on an extra point to make the difference in the game. Whitehouse QB Patrick Mahomes completed 34 of his 49 passes for 374 yards and 1 TD.
Wolfforth Frenship 45, Amarillo Palo Duro 41
Wolfforth Frenship RB D'Maujeric Tucker ran for 238 yards and scored 4 Touchdowns during this wild game. Tucker now has 970 yards and 10 TDs on the season. He is averaging 194 yards rushing per game so far through 5 games. This was Amarillo Palo Duro's 600th all-time game.
San Antonio Alamo Heights 24, Boerne Champion 0
The Mules from Alamoh Heights used a strong defense to shut down Champions record setting QB Kyle Poeske by picking off 4 passes on the night. It was the first time that Boerne Champion had been shut out since they began varsity play in 2008.
Cypress Ranch 64, Langham Creek 63, OT
The Mustangs from Cypress Ranch scored a touchdown with only 18 seconds left in the game to tie it all up at 56. In overtime, Langham Creek scored first and kicked the extra point. On Cypress Ranch's possession, their star running back Keith Ford scored to make it 63-62. Cy Ranch head coach Gene Johnson decided to go for 2 and Ford was able to get the ball in the end zone for the conversion and the win. The teams combined for 1,237 yards of total offense. Langham Creek QB Connor Feist went 28 of 42 passing for 537 yards and 5 touchdowns. Ford finished the night with 27 rushes for 268 yards and 1 touchdown. He also had a 99 yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
Abilene 35, San Angelo Central 6
The Eagles from Abilene remained undefeated with a district win over San Angelo Central. Abilene QB Evin Abbe completed 14 passes on 21 attempts for 236 yards and 3 touchdowns. WR Keevan Lucas had 4 catches for 52 yards 1 touchdown. On the season, Abbe has completed 82 passes on 118 attempts for 1,287 yards and 11 touchdonws. Lucas now has 38 receptions for 716 yards and 2 touchdowns on the season.
Dallas Carter 28, Dallas Kimball 14
The Cowboys from Dallas Carter won this 11-4A Matchup. They now lead this series 8-1 since 2004 in the "Oak Cliff Super Bowl".
Gilmer 21, Gladewater 13
The Bears from Gladewater led this one 13-0 in the 3rd quarter before Gilmer turned things around and scored the games last 21 point in this 16-3A matchup. Gilmer has now won 11 straight since 2002. Gilmer quarterback Tanner Barr finished the game 16 of 30 for 187 yards. For the season, he has now completed 92 passes on 163 attempts for 1,108 yards and 9 touchdowns.
Canadian 41, Bushland 24
The Canadian offense rolled up 577 total yards to win this one. Canadian QB Ben Arbuckle completed 31 passes on 43 attempts for 388 yards and 1 touchdown. WR Boston Hudson finished with 6 catches for 98 yards and 1 touchdown. On the season, Arbuckle is 124 of 192 for 1,780 yards and 14 touchdowns. Hudson now has 32 receptions fo r597 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Converse Judson 59, Corpus Christi Carroll 0
The Rockets from Judson held Carroll to 106 total yards for the night. Converse Judson RB Jarveon Williams ran for 164 yards on 14 carries and scored 3 TDs. For the season he now has 1,009 yards on 92 carries and 13 touchdwons. He is averaging 10.97 yard per carry and 201.8 yards per game.
Montgomery 16, Magnolia West 14
The Bears from Montgomery Bears won this 18-4A Match-up and now lead this all-time series 4-1.
Kennedale 25, Texarkana Texas 13
Kennedale RB Juwan Washington ran for 216 yards on 25 carries and scored a TD during the victory. For the season, he now has 976 yards on 114 carries and 11 touchdowns. He is averaging 195.2 yards per game.
Euless Trinity 31, Colleyville Heritage 16
The Trojans from Trinity had 399 yards rushing in this 6-5A Match-up. They now lead this series 6-0 since 2002.

Goldthwaite still leads this series 4-2 since 1995.
Southlake Carroll 59, Keller Central 0
Carroll led this one 35-0 at half and rolled up 490 total yards while holding Central to 136 in this 4-5A Match-up. Southlake Carroll now leads this all-time series 5-0.
Port Lavaca Calhoun 17, Corpus Christi Calallen 0
Port Lavaca quarterback Hunter Boerm ran for 217 yards on the night to lead them to a District 30-4A victory. Corpus Christi Calallen Head Coach Phil Danaher coached in his 375th game at Calallen during the game.
Navasota 41, Fairfield 7
The Rattlers from Navasota remained undefeated with this convincing victory. Navasota’s QB Kadarius Baker threw for 309 yards on 17 of 27 passing for 4 touchdowns. WR Solomon McGinty had 5 catches for 61 yards and a TD while WR Austin Collins had 10 catches for 208 yards and 3 TDs. For the season, Baker is 92 of 143 for 1,756 yards and 21 TDs. McGinty has 33 catches for 733 yards and 8 TDs and Collins has 34 catches for 763 yards and 11 TDs.
Nocona 24, Valley View 8
The Indians from Nocona remained undefeated behind the running of RB Tate Fenoglio. Fenoglio finished the night with 192 yards on 26 carries. For the season he now has 899 yards on 107 carries and 10 TDs. He is averaging 179.8 yards per game rushing.
Midland 17, Odessa Permian 6
The Bulldogs ground out a victory in this 2-5A Match-up. Odessa Permian still leads this series 12-7 since 1994.
Liberty Hill 46, Wimberley 24
This game was 13-10 going into the 4th quarter in one of LSG's Games Of The Week. Liberty Hill's RB duo of Jesse Perez and Cory Ferrell were averaging a combined total of 296.4 yards rushing per game. The Texans held them to 108 yards on 21 carries.
New Deal 46, Sudan 21
New Deal outscored Sudan 26-7 in the 2nd half to give Sudan their fist loss of the season. New Deal RB VJ Gamez had 134 yards rushing on 23 carries and 1 TD in the game. For the season, he now has 108 carries for 878 yards and 12 TDs. He is averaging 175.6 yards rushing per game.
Lubbock Monterey 75, Amarillo Caprock 61
The two teams combined for 19 touchdowns and 1,378 total offensive yards. In the loss Caprock quarterback Michael Guerrero threw for 481 yards and 7 touchdowns completing 25 of 39 passes. Caprock WR Addison Bustos had 9 catches for 191 yards and 4 TDs. For the season, Guerrero is 120 of 189 for 2,022 yards and 24 TDs. Bustos has 55 receptions for 1,117 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Stephenville 35, Amarillo 14
The Yellow Jackets from Stephenville held Amarillo's high powere running game to only 207 rushing yards to win an LSG Game Of The Week. Stephenville QB Tyler Jones completed 26 of 38 passes for 298 yards and 4 TDs. For the season, Jones is 102 of 152 for 1,211 yards and 10 TDs.
Garland Sachse 50, North Garland 8
Sachse QB Kent Myers completed 10 of 13 passes for 318 yards and 6 TDS during the win. On the season, he is now 89 of 132 for 1,605 yards and 20 TDs.
