Mike Says: The Mavericks made their 2nd consecutive trip to at least the Quarterfinals last year. They picked the wrong time to lose to O'Connor when they fell to them in the Quarterfinals for the first time in 11 of their contest. The pass/catch duo of QB Cody Ennis and WR Byron Daniels will be a fun one to watch. They have great games on the schedule against Cibolo Steele, Smithson Valley and Roosevelt. Look for them to go 8-2 or 7-3 in the regular season and make it at least 3 or 4 rounds in the playoffs.

Chris Says: I expect a lot from Jim Streety's Madison Mavericks team this season. Let's just put it out there - they could be in the championship game! Our preseason championship predictions have them losing the Allen in the title game. Don't warm up the bus just yet, the Mavericks will have a tough road. While their district shouldn't cause them to stumble, they have one heck of a tough playoff road if they are going to make it to the title game. They have the horses to finish the race and the jockey to get them there though.
