Mike Says: The Panthers had a great first season in Class 5A last year. This year will be a little more difficult with a strong graduating class leaving. Only 5 starters are returning but they will be good enough to challenge for the district title and then go as far as the Quarterfinals in the playoffs.

Chris Says: Waco Hewitt Midway just missed heading to the semifinals last season. You would think that would make them a shoe-in for another great playoff run. The problem is that only one starter returns to the offense and only four on defense. That said, the Panthers will not fade away completely. They will still do well in District 8-5A and are likely to take the crown again. Playoffs will be a bit tougher this season without that experience, but they will still be there.
