- Mike Says: The Ricebirds made a run all the way to the championship game during their first season in Class 3A. This years team only brings back 3 starters from that team. They have big games against Bellville and Wharton which are not exactly the toughest in the state so look for them to win 8 or 9 games in the regular season and then the playoffs stack up pretty good for them all the way to the Quarterfinals.
- Chris Says: El Campo will once again be a factor in the playoffs - at least in Region IV. The Ricebirds had a great run last year that ended just short of a state title, but graduation decimated the team. They will still be a strong team and still a factor in the district and region, just not headed to Dallas in December.
