* Have gone from 4-6 in 2010 to 6-4 in 2011 to 9-5 in 2012

  • Mike Says: The Mustangs had a great run last year making it all the way to the Quarterfinals in only their 3rd year of varsity play. Their offense was great scoring over 37 ppg but their defense gave up 36. Not a lot of returners from last years team is coming back. The key player will be QB Cole Martin. If he can have a super season then the Mustangs have a chance. Look for them to go 7-3 or 6-4 in the regular season and come in 3rd, 4th or 5th in the district.
  • Chris Says: Cy Ranch has done nothing but improve each season and in District 17-5A that next step is district champs.   The problem with that, is graduation.  A lot of talent has left the team and while there are some solid athletes returning, (QB - Cole Martin and a veteran O-line) the rest of the CFISD teams are not just going to sit and wait for the younger players to gain experience.  With their "miracle season" behind them, look for the Mustangs to drop back to another "really good team" in a "really strong district."  That means, 7-9 wins at best.
