Two teams that made it to the title game will be there again this year and two that missed out last year will find themselves playing at NRG stadium.  Only one repeat champion however as Navasota pulls off the double.

Mike Says: This classification will be lots of fun. There are lots of old standbys that make it far in the playoffs and there are a few surprising newcomers. Lets start it off in Division I. Region I features Graham and Abilene Wylie...Wylie holds the all-time playoff edge 3-1 vs. the Steers but Graham with QB Landry Turner will get the big win. They will follow their star QB to the championship game where they fall to Navasota. In Region II, last years state runner up Argyle takes on a surprising Athens team. Argyle will ONLY make it to the Semifinals this year falling to Graham. Region III features the state champion and our pick to win it again, Navasota vs. Carthage who went to 4 state championship games from 2008-2013. Region IV finds Liberty Hill beating La Vernia. Liberty Hill will continue using that strong running game to make the Semifinals but lose to Navasota again just like last year. Now Division II. Region I finds the always present Celina Bobcats beating the up and coming Sweetwater Mustangs. Celina will fall to Gilmer once again this year in the Semifinals. Region II has last years state champion Gilmer beating Coldspring-Oakhurst who is making it back to the Quarterfinals after a 3 year absence. Gilmer goes back to the championship game but is the runner up this year. Region III features last years state runner up West Orange-Stark vs. this years prediction champion La Grange who is expected to make their first championship appearance since 2001. Lots of raised eyebrows at our Region IV champion Sinton who we have winning over Cuero who is expected to make their first Quarterfinals showing since 2009. Sinton is predicted to fall in the Semifinals for the 3rd year in a row. All in all....its going to be a great year in Class 4A.

Chris Says:  I am probably as excited about these playoff battles as I am about any.  Look at some of the matchups - Gilmer vs Celina and Graham vs Argyle in the Semis!  I think the difference maker for La Grange this year is a more mature JK Dobbins.  Navasota returns the bulk of their record-breaking horses and there is no reason why they shouldn't repeat.  They will be going up against an aerial attack from Graham that is completely opposite the ground and pound game they faced with Argyle last season - so expect a different style game.  The place I have the most question is Region IV in both divisions as I think those matchups could go either way before losing to the eventual state champions in the Semis.
