Many Changes for Allen in 2018
The Allen Eagles are back on top after winning the 2017 Class 6A Division I State Championship. It was their 5th state championship in 5 tries.
2008 5A Division I Allen 21, Fort Bend Hightower 14 (Reliant Stadium)
2012 5A Division I Allen 35, Houston Lamar 21 (Cowboys Stadium)
2013 5A Division I Allen 63, Pearland 28 (Cowboys Stadium)
2014 6A Division I Allen 47, Cypress Ranch 16 (AT&T Stadium)
2017 6A Division I Allen 35, Austin Lake Travis 33 (at Arlington's AT&T)
Eagle Head Coach Terry Gambill not only took his team to the championship game but his former school Waco Hewitt Midway was also there.
This year will have a lot of changes in store for the Eagles. They will be moving to Region II next year going into District 9-6A. Their new district will consist of Dallas Jesuit, McKinney, McKinney Boyd, Plano, Plano East, Plano West and Prosper.
Dallas Jesuit will be a tough challenge for the Eagles. Jesuit is on a 8 year winning streak going 65-30. They had a great year last year even with a 7-5 record as most of their losses came against powers like DeSoto, Austin Lake Travis, Coppell, and Longview.
To go along with all of that, the Eagles are currently on a 55 game regular season winning streak. That puts them #5 all-time. The last regular season loss they had was in 2012 at Coppell where they lost 24-27 in overtime. They have not played a weak schedule during that time. Their 55 wins includes victories over Evangel Christian Academy (twice), LA, Cedar Hill, Hoover, AL, Denton Guyer ,Viera HS, FL, Southlake Carroll and dozens more.
Expect Allen at the top of the rankings again this year as they bring back QB Grant Tisdale, WR Theo Wease, OL EJ Ndoma-Ogar, OL Tai Brooks, DL Jayden Jernigan and DL Seth Mason.
