LSG All-Time Games Of The Week Record (3-1 in 2011)

2012 Games:
W 35-21 AT SPRING

This is the first time that these two teams have every played each other.

  • Mike Says: This will be Manvel's first big time challenge in Class 5A. The Mustangs are always a top team in the Houston area and this year is no different...just ask Clear Springs. They have stars like QB Micah Thomas, LB Zach Whitley and DB Earnest Thomas. The Mavericks won their first 5A game last week @ Spring and they are led by QB Shane McCarley, WR Austin Bennett and WR Kyrion Parker. Its going to be a good one but I do not think North Shore even with that good secondary can contain the Manvel passing game. The MAVERICKS win 32-27!!
  • Chris Says: Manvel was a blast to watch last season and this looks to be just as much fun.  North Shore however, is a team that is just not getting the respect they have in the past.  While it would be a great story for Manvel to come in and roll through Class 5A (like Austin Lake Travis appears poised to do) it just isn't going to be that easy.  This game will be a great test to see if the Mavericks are good enough to compete with the big boys.  ln the end though, McCarley is that good and will be the difference maker.  MAVERICKS take the victory 31-28!!
