RB SOPH Trent Jackson 1423 yards 21 TDs rushing
TE/LB Tanner Hoffman 68 tackles

Notes:
Cuero is set for another run at the title. They do not have many starters coming back off of last years semifinalist team but they do have a great backfield duo returning. Both Arndt and Jackson are All-State players. Jackson broke Robert Straits Freshman rushing record last year so the sky is the limit. The district 28-3A title should be no problem for the Gobblers in 2009. Look for them to either finish the season undefeated or 9-1. They always play a tough non-district schedule and one of those teams may be up to the challenge. A big LSG salute goes out to the Gobblers for what they did at their 7-on-7 state qualifying tournament this year. When everyone left for the day, Cuero was going to the state tournament. The coaches at Cuero started looking at the rule book and thought that maybe they should not have advanced out of pool play. They confirmed this with the state officials and awarded the state spot to Palacios. They could have very easily just kept it quiet and made a trip to the state tournament.
