Updated: April 23, 2010
Longview Spring Hill has named Bill Poe as their next head coach. Poe will replace Robert Bero who is retiring.
Bero led the Panthers for the last five seasons to a 22-29 record. He was also the head coach at Longview from 1988-1999 compiling a 92-37-3 record and leading the Lobos to the state championship game in 1997. He ends his career with a 116-65-3 overall record.
Poe was the offensive coordinator at Southlake Carroll last season and will take on a tough job with the Panthers finishing 3-6 last season and getting into one of the toughest districts in the state. Spring Hill is a member of District 16-3A which includes both of 2009's 3A State Champions (Carthage and Gilmer). Other teams in the district are Gladewater, Henderson and Pittsburg.
