Once again Houston Chavez did a great job at hosting the Houston Texans 7-on-7 SQT on Saturday. This event was held at the Methodist Training Center. Here are the results.

Pool A : Houston Bellaire Fort Bend Dulles Katy Cinco Ranch Channelview

Dulles went in the final game at 2-0 while Cinco Ranch and Channelview were at 1-1. Cinco Ranch fell to Bellaire and when Channelview knocked off Dulles in a wild game, it came down to head-to-head in the Dulles Channelview game which Channelview won.

Pool B : Manvel Houston Lamar Cypress Woods Clear Creek

Houston Lamar led by QB Bram Kohlhausen was solid throughout and won this pool. Their first game vs. Manvel was a close one though. Watch out for Cypress Woods in later tournaments.

Texas City takes this pool. It came down to them and Mangnolia which was a hard fought game.

<Pool D : Houston Chavez Houston Worthing Pasadena Aldine MacArthur

Houston Chavez won this pool after playing a close one vs. Houston Worthing. Chavez is once again very athletic and big.

The two HISD schools (Chavez and Lamar) rolled through their semifinal games to advance to state. Chavez defeated Texas City 34-13 while Lamar beat Channelview 38-20.

Championship & Consolation Game:

Channelview rolled Texas City in the Consolation Game 52-8. In the championship game, the two HISD rivals went back and forth in a hotly contested battle. They were two very evenly matched teams with Lamar winning 25-21.
