Coaching Changes — Brownsville Hanna

Brownsville Hanna has named offensive coordinator Tom Campos as the schools new athletic coordinator and head coach. Campos will replace Tom Chavez who is taking over the districts Athletic Director position.
Chavez leaves after going 9-2 in 2009 and an overall 12-19 record in his three seasons with the Golden Eagles. He will replace retiring Joe Rodriguez at the Athletic Director position. His all-time coaching record is 125-102-1.
Campos served as offensive coordinator for three years at Hanna under coach Chavez. Prior to Hanna he coached with Chavez at Donna for two years.
Hanna will be a member of District 32-5A along with Brownsville Lopez, Brownsville Pace, Brownsville Porter, Brownsville Rivera, Los Fresnos, San Benito and Weslaco. Chavez’s and Campo's 2009 Hanna team was the District 32-5A champion, compiling a 9-2 overall record and a 7-0 record in district play. 2009 ended a string of 7 consecutive non-winning seasons (7-43 in teh previous 5 years) and the 9 wins was the most since 1969 (41 years).
