Coaching Changes — El Paso Socorro

El Paso Socorro has named Ronnie Hernandez as their next head coach. He will replace Mike Ferrell who will be taking over the same position at Cedar Creek.
Ferrell went 3-7 in 2009 and was 10-20 during his three seasons with the Bulldogs.
Hernandez comes over from El Paso High where he has been the head coach since 2008. He went 3-17 overall while leading the Tigers. Coach Hernandez has been the head coach at El Paso Parkland and Fabens. His other experience is as an assistant at El Paso Andress, El Paso Cathedral and El Paso Jefferson.
The Bulldogs have gone 20-38 overall and 13-33 in District 1-5A during the past six seasons and have not been to the playoffs since 2002. Their last district title was in 1998, as a part of District 2-5A. Socorro is a member of district District 1-5A along with El Paso Americas, El Paso Bel Air, El Paso Coronado, El Paso Eastwood, El Paso El Dorado, El Paso Franklin, El Paso Hanks and El Paso Montwood.
