Houston Stratford Gets Highly Rated Transfer

Houston Stratford will be getting one of the best quarterbacks in the area if not the state. Jeremiah Briscoe is transferring from Houston Second Baptist to join the Spartans.

Briscoe passed for 2,358 yards and 23 Touchdowns last year as a Junior at Houston Second Baptist. He is being recruited by some of the best schools in the area like Baylor, LSU, Texas A&M, TCU, Oklahoma and Texas.

Stratford dropped to 4A last year for the first time since 1979 (when the largest schools were 4A) last year. They finished with an overall 6-5 record but went 5-2 in district play with their losses coming to powerhouses Montgomery and Brenham. Watch out for the Spartans in 2011.
