2011 Coaching Change: Longview Pine Tree Pirates
Old Head Coach: Huey Chancellor -- Leaving for 3A Rockport-Fulton. He led Longview Pine Tree to a disappointing 2-18-0 record over the last 2 seasons. Before coming to Pine Tree he coached at Bellville where he spent 14 seasons going 115-49-0. Chancellor has an all-time record of 126-89-0.

New Head Coach: Derek Fitzhenry -- Comes over from 3A Giddings where he led the Buffaloes to a 72-24-0 record over the last eight seasons. Coach Fitzhenry was hired as the new head coach at Pasadena Dobie last year but decided against moving after Giddings players and fans voiced support for their longtime coach. His son, Spencer may also come to Pine Tree. Spencer rushed for 876 yards last season.
Team News: The Pirates have had 8 consecutive non-winning seasons. They have an overall record of 15-65 during that time and have back to back 1-9 seasons.
