(Week 0 2011): Argyle Eagles @ Lucas Lovejoy Leopards

Updated: August 25, 2011
Argyle won last years highly anticipated matchup 17-14.
Mike Says: Both teams made it to the quarterfinals last year and both are expected to have great seasons again this year. Lovejoy playing in only their fourth varsity season will have to rely on their defense led by three returning 1st team all-district players. They will have to stop Argyles Quarterback Austin Aune who passed for 2730 yards last season. It will be hard to get to him with All-State Offensive lineman Trey Keenan guarding him. It will be a great 3A matchup to set the tone for the season. The EAGLES win 21-20!!!
Chris Says: These are two of the best teams in 3A this year and even though we have Argyle at #4 and Lovejoy at #18 in the state, this will be a much closer battle. The two offense last year both put up over 560 points and defensively, they were some of the stingiest. Expect the Austin Aune/Adam Kahn connection to fire early and often. Argyle wins it 28-21!!
