Refugio Wins District 16-2A Division II — Lynx Hawthorne Record Watch

The Bobcats from Refugio went undefeated in the regular season and won the district title with a 55-14 victory over Banquete. Refugio finished the season 10-0 and 7-0 in district play while Banquete finished 7-3 and 5-2. Next week Refugio has a bye in the first round for winning district. Banquete will take on the 2nd seed in district 15-2A DII.

For the game, Refugio quarterback Travis Quintanilla threw for 416 yards and had 6 Touchdown passes. His favorite receiver Lynx Hawthorne caught 7 passes for 230 yards and 3 of those touchdowns. Kicker Adolfo Cordero hit on 3 extra points to give him 65 on the season. This was Refugio's 51st consecutive regular season win.
