The Tyler John Tyler Lions made it to the semifinals after falling in the quarterfinals for the last 2 seasons. They turned things on in the 4th quarter to beat the Sherman Bearcats in the Class 4A Division I Quarterfinals. The Lions will face Waco Hewitt Midway next week in the semifinals.
For the record, 2 juniors had big nights for the Lions. Tyler John Tyler wide reeiver Fred Ross caught 9 passes for 114 yards and 1 touchdown. Quarterback Greg Ward also had a big night completing an amazing 26 passes on 27 attempts for 292 yards and 2 touchdowns. For the season Ward has completed 72.98% of his passes. He has completed 262 passes on 359 attempts for 3,616 yards and 32 touchdowns. Ross now has 94 receptions for 1,294 yards and 14 touchdowns.
