Katy held on in a defensive battle and LSG was there!! During the first half both teams were held to a total of 111 yards. Katy finished the night with 68 yards rushing on 31 carries while Taylor was held to 3 yards rushing on 28 carries. The star of the game was Katy DB Isaiah Brown who had 2 interceptions and a long punt return. His returned his first interception 70 yards for a touchdown which happened as Taylor led 3-0 and was driving.

Lufkin 41, Tyler Lee 31
Lufkin dedicated its field to the late John Outlaw. Lufkin leads this series 36-15-1 all-time.

The Texans 16 game winning streak comes to an end

Colleyville Heritage 54, Denton Guyer 38
Colleyville Heritage quarterback Cody Thomas threw 5 touchdown passes and ran for 2 more to lead the Panthers to a 54-38 victory over Denton Guyer. Heritage outscored Guyer 33-7 in the 2nd half to get the win. Thomas finished with 360 yards passing and 71 yards rushing. Guyer, the pre-season #1 4A team is now 0-2 on the season with losses to 2 5A teams (Cedar Hill & Heritage).

Top 10 3A Gilmer falls to private school

La Marque 34, Texas City 21
The Cougars from La Marque won this years "Battle by the Bay" against Texas City. La Marque led by 27 points going into the 4th quarter before Texas City scored 2 4th quarter touchdowns.

The Highlanders used a tough defense to defeat the Hurricanes. They limited Hightower to 156 total yards for the game.

Stephenville 41, Aledo 28
Stephenville's offense was unstopable as they put up 531 yards of total offense during their 41-28 victory over Aledo. Yellow Jacket quarterback Tyler Jones passed for 293 yards and ran for another 137 with 4 Touchdowns.

The Bearcats led this one 49-29 early in the 4th quarter. Sherman junior running back Tre’ Mask ran for 239 yards and three touchdowns. Sherman QB Dru Smith passed for 362 yards and 4 TDs. For the season, he now has 788 yards and 10 TDs.

Gregory-Portland 41, Alice 21
G-P running back Devin Bisby ran for 231 yards and two touchdowns during the win. Alice had 10 penalties and 7 turnovers during the loss. This was Alice's 950th all-time game.

The Prairiland defense held Whitewright QB Tyrone Swoopes to 86 yards rushing and 136 yards passing on the night. For the season, Swoopes has 367 yards rushing and 5 TDs.

John Tyler fumbled on the last play at the Lancaster 1 yard line and Lancaster won a shocker 26-21. The Lancaster defense held John Tyler to 96 rushing yards and got 6 sacks. This was only the 3rd time that he Lions have lost to a 4A opponent since moving down to 4A 3 years ago. The other 2 losses where in the Quarterfinals in 2010 and the Semifinals last year.

New Braunfels 41, Seguin 29
New Braunfels now leads this series 59-37-3 all-time in the "Guadalupe River Bowl" 99 games (one of the states longest running series) The Unicorns have now won 6 in a row

Pasadena Memorial 36, Clear Lake 27
Memorial RB Reggie Turner ran for 138 yards on 27 carries and scored 1 TD. For the season he now has 47 carries for 364 yards and 2 TDs.

Galena Park North Shore 56, Manvel 28
The Mavericks jumped out to an early 28-7 lead but North Shore went on to score the games final 49 points to get the big win. The Mustangs ran for almost 300 yards led by Tristan Houston who had 210 yards and 2 TDs. It was North Shore's 300th all-time win.

West Orange-Stark 34, Port Neches-Groves 13
West Orange-Stark now leads this series 18-6 All-Time

La Grange 46, Columbus 7
The La Grange defense held Columbus QB Tyson Simcik in check as he went 18 of 39 for 143 yards and 1 TD. For the season, he is now 52-100 for 502 yards and 5 TDs. This was the 950th all-time victory for La Grange.

Munday 34, Stamford 27
Munday won this matchup of 2 of the best Class 1A teams in the state. Munday quarterback Dee Paul returned a kickoff for a score and intercepted the ball in the end zone as a DB on Stamfords final drive. Stamford's superstar quarterback Hagen Hutchinson threw for 219 yards and rushed for 82.

Rockwall 41, Garland Rowlett 37
Rockwall now leads this series 8-7 all-time in the "Battle for Lake Ray Hubbard". This was Rockwall's head coach Scott Smith's 75th game at Rockwall.

Cibolo Steele 42, Converse Judson 35
The Knights defense came up with 5 turnovers to get this wild win. The teams combined for 5 TDs in the final 6 minutes of the game. Steele improves to 2-0 while Judson falls to 0-2. Steele's junior running back Justin Stockton finished the night with 235 rushing yards and two scores. He now has ran for 496 yards and scored 6 touchdowns so far this year.

San Angelo Central 40, Scotts Valley California 7
Central returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown and never looked back. Central QB Mickey Scott went 15 of 19 for 123 yards and 2 TDs. For the season, he is now 49-65 for 462 yards and 5 TDs.

Dallas Skyline 37, Arlington Martin 34
Martin scored with a little less than 4 minutes left in the game to bring it to 37-34 but then Skyline was able to run out the clock and get this big win. Skyline moves to 2-0 while Martin falls to 0-2. Martin's running back Kyle Hicks finished the night with 200 yards rushing and threw for two touchdowns from the wildcat formation. Dallas Skyline head coach Reginald Samples won his 75th game at Skyline.

Austin Lake Travis 49, New Braunfels Canyon 7
The Cavaliers have now won 24 in a row. Cavalier QB Baker Mayfield threw for 192 yards and 3 TDs. For the season, he now has 602 yards and 8 TDs. wR Zach Austin finished the night with 3 catches for 62 yards and 1 TD. For the season, he now has 10 catches for 289 yards and 5 TDs.

Whitehouse 38, Tyler Chapel Hill 14
Whitehouse won the 26th all-time meeting between these 2 teams in front of close to 10,000 fans. Chapel Hill still leads the overall series 14-10-2 but Whitehouse has won 10 of the last 12.

Abilene Cooper 17, Cedar Park 14
Pre-Season 4A TOP 5 Cedar Park is now 0-2 after losing to 2 Class 5A teams

Carrollton Newman Smith 21, Little Elm 7
Little Elm RB Keaun Kinner ran for 135 yards on 22 carries. For the season, he now has 68 carries for 548 yards.
