- Mike Says: Both of these teams lost close ones to Giddings. Wimberley has been having an up and down season while Liberty Hill has been piling on the points. They have scored 215 points in only 4 games this year. The Wimberley defense will need to have a big night. They are led by SOPH LB West Lambert (39 tackles) and DL Kolby Kelley (3 sacks). Liberty Hills QB has only thrown 14 passes this year in 4 games. RB Jesse Perez has 621 yards rushing and Cory Ferrell has 564 yards. Their defense is led by Jadon Durity Boatright who has 4 INTs. Wimberley is tied for the best overall record in LSG Games Of The Week with a 6-0 record while Liberty Hill has never been in the LSG spotlight. That is exactly why Liberty Hill will win...that and the fact that the Texans will not be able to slow the Panthers running game down. The PANTHERS win 27-17!!
- Chris Says: While I make my home in Wimberley, I am torn by this one. The Texans graduated a ton of heart and passion from their 2011 state championship team and this years squad is still figuring out who they are. I trust that Coach Weldon Nelms will get things ironed out and that they will be in great shape come playoff time. I'm just not convinced they are there yet. I intended to pick Liberty Hill to win this one, but after talking to several of the coaches at Wimberley, I have changed my mind. The one really decent team the Panthers played (Giddings) beat them with almost the same score they beat Wimberley. I think the changes Wimberley has made in their lineup the past two weeks make them a much better team than they were to start the season. The Texans win 22-17!!!!
