2013 Coaching Change: Mesquite Poteet Pirates
Old Head Coach: Randy Jackson – Leaving for 5A Plano East. He led the Pirates to a 30-9 record over the past 3 seasons. He has also been a head coach at 2A Lone Oak from 2004-2009 going 50-20, DeKalb in 2002 going 9-4 and Mason in 2001 going 5-7. He also served as an assistant coach at West Mesquite and Greenville. He has an all-time coaching record of 94-40-0 which ranks him in the Top 425 in all-time coaching wins.
New Head Coach: Kody Groves -- Was the Pirates defensive coordinator last year. He has also been an assistant at Coppell, Midland Lee and Midlothian.
Team News: The Pirates were 2-18 in the 2 seasons before coach Jackson arrived.
