Liberty-Eylau, Red Oak & Terrell Exchange Coaches

Three schools exchanged coaches recently. It all started with Terrell's Kevin Wilson resigning. From there, Red Oak's Mike Shields left the Hawks to take the job at Terrell. Finally Texarkana Liberty-Eylau's Brian Brown took the Red Oak job.

Wilson went 2-18 in his 2 years with the Tigers of Terrell. Before taking over at Terrell, he was an assistant at Stephenville for 9 years. He played college football at at Tarleton State. The Tigers are going though a tough time going 4-26 over the past 3 seasons. They Will be in 12-5A for the next 2 seasons along with Forney, Mesquite Poteet, North Forney, Rockwall-Heath, Royse City, South Garland and West Mesquite.

Shields broke a 22 year playoff drought at Red Oak during his first season in 2007. His teams made the playoffs 4 of his 7 seasons there and he left as the all-time winningest coach in Red Oak history going 44-34-0. Brown takes over the Red Oak Hawks after coaching the Texarkana Liberty-Eylau Leopards for the past 3 seasons to a 16-16 record. Brown was an assistant with the hawks when current Red Oak ISD athletic director Pat Brady led Liberty-Eylau to the 2006 Class 3A Division I state title. Red Oak will be in District 14-5A for the next 2 seasons along with Arlington Seguin, Lancaster, Mansfield Lake Ridge, Mansfield Legacy, Mansfield Summit, Mansfield Timberview and Waxahachie.

Texarkana Liberty-Eylau will be in District 7-4A Division I for the next 2 seasons along with Paris, Paris North Lamar, Pittsburg, Princeton and Quinlan Ford.
