Kyle Maxfield Takes Over at Brownwood

When the Brownwood Lions head coaching position comes open, it is always of statewide interest. The program has a long tradition of successful teams and coaches. The Lions have taken home the state championship trophy 7 times in 8 appearances †. Brownwood has been home to coaching standouts like Gordon Wood, Randy Allen, Steve Freeman and Bob Shipley. Maxfield understands the significance of the position and will work to continue the success.
Maxfield spent the last seven seasons at Shallowater, where he took over a 4-6 team and lead the Mustangs to a 72-18 record during his tenure. His previous stops included
