Coach Randy Allen from Dallas Highland Park High School was named as the Don Shula NFL High School Coach of the Year. Each team in the National Football League nominates a high school coach every year based on their on-field success, character, integrity and much more. Allen was nominated by the Dallas Cowboys.
The Cowboys and Coach Randy Allen have more than a little in common this year as the Highland Park Scots won the Class 5A Division I State Championship over Temple at the Cowboys' AT&T Stadium. The Scots were led to victory by quarterback John Stephen Jones (son of Cowboys Directory of Player Personnel Stephen Jones and grandson of Cowboys owner, Jerry Jones)

Coach Allen, the Scots and the Jones clan celebrated on the field after Dallas Highland Park won the title.
Allen has a record of 361-86-6 and is currently the #4 ranked coach in terms of all-time wins for Texas high school football. This award is just the latest in a long line of awards and recognition for the long-time coach.
