2016 Class 5A Offensive Player of the Year

Dillon Davis & Eno Benjamin - 2016 Class 5A Co-Offensive Players of the Year

The DFW area had been blanked on offensive players of the year but then charge into the mix with a duo at the Class 5A level. Aledo quarterback Dillon Davis and Wylie East running back Eno Benjamin are the LSG Co-Offensive Players of the Year. Both had spectacular seasons and the vote was too close to not choose them both.

Davis led Aledo to a state championship. He was was also 1st Team for the Texas Sports Writers Association. He finished the season with 189 completions on 311 attempts for 3,769 yards and 45 touchdowns. His 3,769 yards passing was #10 in state.

Benjamin carried his team to the Regionals. He was the Associated Press Player Of The Year and was 1st Team for the Texas Sports Writers Association. He finished the season with 2,587 yards on 359 carries for 28 touchdowns. His 2,587 yards rushing was #5 in state. He finishes his career with 4,707 yards on 676 carries for 54 touchdowns.

The 1st and 2nd runners-up for the 2016 award were:

  • 1st Runner Up Bailey Zappe - QB Victoria East 2nd Team TSWA HM AP 3,770 yards passing #9 in state
  • 2nd Runner Up Cedarian Lamb - WR Richmond Foster TSWA POY 1st Team AP 2,032 yards receiving #2 in state
