Mount Vernon Hires Art Briles

The Mount Vernon Tigers have hired Art Briles to be their next Head Coach. He will replace Josh Finney who is leaving for Winnsboro.

Finney was very successful at Mount Vernon going 19-5 in 2 years. He has also been a Head Coach at Hull-Daisetta, Teague and Maud. He has an all-time coaching record of 86-32.

Coach Briles was most recently a coach in Florence Italy. Before that he was the Head Coach at Baylor University and the University of Houston. At the High School level, Briles has been a head coach  at Hamlin 1984-1985 (27-1-1), Georgetown 1986-1987 (3-16-1), and Stephenville 1988-1999 (135-29-2).
