Coaches Comments: District Outlook: 1. Hondo 2. Carrizo Springs 3. Devine 4. Lytle 5. Crystal City 6. Pearsall Alot of the younger teams in the district will have another year of experience, so the district race should be a good one.

Returning Lettermen: 14

Returning Starters: Offense: 2 Defense: 6

Key Players:
* RB Jordan Fraga 1st Team All-District rushed for over 1000 yds last season
* OL/DL Zach Monreal 1st Team All-District OL will be 4 year Varsity starter
* OL Andrew Miller 1st Team All-District
* OL/DL JR Leo Perez
* RB/DB JR Pat Mares 1st Team All-District DB very talented young man

Notes:
* Had their best season in school history (91 years) last season going all the way to the Quarterfinals
* Will miss superstar Joseph Sadler after his great season last year breaking the all-time record for points scored in a season with 451 points
* Sadler was our 3A Player Of The Year

  • Mike Says: The Warhorses dominated this district last year winning by an average of 46.8 points per game. It will not be as easy this time around without Sadler but they should take the district title. Once in the playoffs, they will go Division II and an early bi-district matchup against either Sinton or Ingleside will make things interesting. Expect them to go 7-3 or 8-2 in the regular season and then 1 or 2 rounds into the playoffs.
  • Chris Says: I was going to try to write this preview with mentioning Joseph Sadler - but I can't.  Now that I have that off my chest - what about Devine this year?  Will they slide into oblivion?  Should they just roll up the field and stay home?  Not a chance!  Sure, Sadler's yardage will be missed (there, I mentioned him again.)  Sure, they are only bringing back two starters on offense.  Sure, it would be easy to say it is a rebuilding year. I think that's just a little too simplified.  The Warhorse will still field a quality team and still win a lot of games this year.  They may not win the district, but they will be in the playoff hunt.    There are 14 returning players who made it to the Quarterfinals last year and that experience will be invaluable.
