Here are the pools, key players and of course my predictions for the Lewisville State Qualifying Tournament.
Pool A: Coppell, Lewisville Hebron, Plano West, Sherman
Lewisville Hebron has gone 6-7 this year and made the semifinals at the Arlington Bowie SQT. If they dont qualify this year it will be for the first time in 8 years. Plano West has gone 2-4 in SQT play this year while Sherman has gone 0-3 including a 44-7 loss to Plano West. Coppell has already qualified.
Mike's Pick: Lewisville Hebron
Pool B: Denton Guyer, Southlake Carroll, Flower Mound, Flower Mound Marcus
This pool comes down to Flower Mound vs. Flower Mound Marcus since Denton Guyer and Southlake Carroll have already qualified. Marcus will be making their first appearance in SQT play while Flower Mound has gone 4-2 including a 26-35 loss to pool opponent Southlake Carroll.
Mike's Pick: Flower Mound
Pool C: Richland, Lewisville, Midlothian, Denton
The host team Lewisville has gone 2-7 this year in SQT play but Coach Dick Olin may have something special planned for this SQT. Midlothian is 3-6 this year including a loss to pool opponent Richland 25-40. Denton lost in the semifinals that they hosted last week to DeSoto. Richland has already qualified.
Mike's Pick: Lewisville
Pool D: Abilene Cooper, Dallas Smith, Mansfield Legacy, Stephenville
Dallas Smith is 1-5 in SQT play this year while Mansfield Legacy has gone 2-4. Abilene Cooper has already qualified so that leaves Stephenville with a 6-3 record as the power in this pool
Mike's Pick: Stephenville
Semifinals:
Lewisville Hebron vs. Flower Mound
Lewisville vs. Stephenville
Mike's Picks: Lewisville Hebron and Stephenville
