Richardson Coach Takes Over At South Grand Prairie

2011 Coaching Change: South Grand Prairie Warriors

Old Head Coach: Robert Davies -- Leaving after leading the Warriors to a 17-15-0 record over the last 3 seasons. Before taking over the head coaching position, he was the Eagles defensive coordinator for seven seasons.

New Head Coach: Brent Whitson -- From 5A Richardson where he led the Eagles to a 18-24-0 record over the last 4 seasons. His teams made the playoffs for the last 2 seasons, ending a 17 year playoff drought. During his first season with the Eagles, they went 0-10. Whitsons other coaching jobs have been in Oklahoma where he has led Broken Arrow, Ardmore and Weatherford.  He won an Oklahoma 5A state championship coaching at Shawnee in 2003.

Team News: Whitson will only be the 5th head coach at South Grand Prairie in its 42 year history.
