Cowboys Stadium Will Host Most State Championships in 2011

Cowboys Stadium will once again host most of the state football championships in 2011. Last year the Class 3A, 4A and 5A championships were all played at Cowboy stadium. The Class 1A and 2A championships were played at Mansfield ISDs Newsom Stadium. This year every 11 man football state championships will all be at Cowboys Stadium. The six man championships will be played at Abilene again.
The UIL is still considering the other domed stadiums (San Antonios Alamodome and Houstons Reliant Stadium) for future sites. Reliant Stadium would need to do something with their playing turf because the grass would not be able to handle so many games.
