2011 Coaching Change: Jefferson Bulldogs
Old Head Coach: Scott Hale -- Resigns after leading the Bulldogs to a 33-25 record over the last five seasons. His teams went to the playoffs every season. His record for his first two seasons was 19-4 but his teams slipped to a 14-21 overall record over the last 3 years. Before taking over as head coach for the Bulldogs, he was an assistant for Tatum.
New Head Coach: Jerry Bennett -- From 2A Linden-Kildare where he led the Tigers to an overall 20-16 record over the last three seasons. His win totals went from 2 to 8 to 10 under his watch. He was the head coach here at Jefferson for 19 years 1982-2000. His record with the Bulldogs during that time was 122-83-5. Coach Bennett was the head coach during the 1986 3A Championship season when they defeated Cuero 24-0. The field at Jeffersons W. F. Lockett Stadium is name after coach Bennett (Jerry Bennett Field). He is the all-time leader in coaching wins at Jefferson and has an all-time coaching record of 171-73-5.
