The Elite 11 Competition Will Include One Texas QB

The Elite 11 QB Roster is set for the competition held from July 18-22 at Malibu, California. This year the Elite 11 will expand from a four day event, to a five day, 24 quarterback competition. The event will crown the 2011 Elite 11 MVP.

This year only one Texas Quarterback has been chosen to participate. Preston Dewey from St. Andrews Episcopal in Austin has the honor. The 6'3" quarterback is currently set to attend college at Miami of Florida. There are two other quarterbacks going though that will be playing college ball in Texas. Connor Brewer from Scottsdale, Arizona is committed to Texas while Tyler Matthews of McPherson, Kansas is going to TCU.

Elite 11 alumni include such stars as Mark Sanchez, Matthew Stafford, Vince Young, Matt Leinart and Tim Tebow. This wil be the 13th year of the event. They evaluate more than 1,000 quarterbacks on tape and in-person annually.
