The Woodlands Defense Leads The Way To Victory

The Woodlands held Fort Bend Hightowers star Quarterback Braylon Addison in check all night to get a 21-14 win Friday night. A friend of LSG Geoff Alsbury said that the Highlander defense was the key to victory keeping Addison corralled up all night. They never let him get outside where he could make the big runs. They seemed to always have him surrounded.
Addison finished the night 18 of 36 for 183 yards and 1 Touchdown passing. He also had 12 carries for 38 yards.
The big sequence of events happened right before halftime. The Woodlands led 14-7 and were driving. Hightower intercepted the near their own goal line to stop the drive and give Addison 1:50 left until halftime. He led the Hurricanes down the field and they made it to the 1 yard line of the Highlanders with 3 seconds left until the half. On the final play, Addison kept the ball but was tackled just short of the goal line. The teams went into the hald with the Highlanders leading 14-7. The Highlander defense was led by linebackers Garret Hope and Robbie Goldschmidt.
