Mike Says: Carthage has not had a good time when we pick them as a Game Of The Week. They lost to Lindale 21-33 and Tyler Chapel Hill 20-21. On the other hand, Gilmer has thrived during our Games Of The Week with wins over Tatum 34-0 and Daingerfield 56-31. Hmmmm...who do I pick...the 0-2 team or the 2-0 team? Gilmer's offense is led by do everything QB Luke Turner (1116 passing, 584 rushing). Their defense is solid behind LB Josh Walker (55 tackles, 5 sacks), LB Colton Hill (47 tackles), LB Adam Witcher (43 tackles) and DB Tanner Barr (13 tackles, 4 INTs). The Buckeyes win 34-21!!!

Chris Says: They days of Carthage rolling all over the state are gone.... uh, graduated.  They are still a strong team and a good program.  They are just not the team they were en route to their championship runs.  Gilmer isn't the same powerhouse they have been in recent years either.  As we learned in our Midseason Report Card on Gilmer, they graduated 28 starters and are having a lot of kids learning as they go along.  Under Coach Jeff Traylor however, they are learning fast.  The BUCKEYES are rolling and will win this one 28-23!!!
