Mike Says: Calhoun comes into this game scoring more (552-448) and giving up less (111-227). Their rushing game is one of the best in the state averaging 436 yards per game. The Sandcrabs did show a weakness last year against a passing team and the Antlers can throw the ball (190 yards per game). They gave up 571 yards to Boerne Champion last year in this round. The sandcrabs head coach Richard Whitaker is worth every penny they are paying him though. He will have those problems ironed out. The SANDCRABS win 35-34!!!
Chris Says: I never thought I would pick against Kerrville Tivy because the Antlers are a solid program, but come on - they are facing one of my favorite teams over the past several years - the Port Lavaca Calhoun Sandcrabs. In fact, I will be spending Thanksgiving with my favorite Sandcrab of all time - my father-in-law, John Bastian. He played for Port Lavaca "back in the day." The SANDCRABS win it 30-20!!!
