  • Mike Says: The Bobcats will be a favorite again this year with lots of key returning players. They averaged almost 60 points per game last year and outtscored their opponents by and average of 47 points. They may not be as dominant this year but they will be very good. QB Quintanilla, RB Silvas and OL Shipp head up the high scoring offense. On defense which is almost as good as the offense, they will be led by LB Jack Gumm. I don't see any one beating them in the regular season. Two teams have great chances at knocking off the champions. One is Lexington and the other is Cisco.
  • Chris Says: Can I just say how much I love the Refugio Bobcats?  Coach Jason Herring has to be one of my all-time favorite coaches.  In fact, I am going to name my EA Sports NCAA 2013 coach Jason Herring.  While I'm at it, I will probably name one of the wide receivers Lynx Hawthorne.  Okay, fanboy time is over... let's get down to business.  Sure Refugio will miss Hawthorne - he did so much to spread defenses that he was worth 20 points a game just by walking on the field.  But you know what?  They would still win by 60 without him!  Yes, Coach Herring's season is going to be a tough act to follow for sure... he coached all levels of football to a 45-0 record - INSANE!!!  While it is unlikely that he can repeat that bit of perfection, I don't see a big letdown.  The Bobcats bring back a ton of experienced players including signal caller, Travis Quintanilla and running back Draigon Silvas.  Add to that, Gumm, and Whetsel and they are pretty much the same team they were last year.  For that reason, they will roll through the regular season and most of the playoffs.  Once again the only team that can beat them is themselves.  Expect to see them in the state championship game again and if they don't tighten up like they did against Cisco, expect another ring!
