Mike Says: The Pirates defense held 6 of their opponents to 14 points or less last season. They bring 8 starters back from that unit along with 8 starters on the offensive side. That will make them a favorite in Region III Division I. Running back Gober is looking forward to another great season. Look for them to go 9-1 or 8-2 in the regular season and win the district title. Carthage will be their main competition in the region. Their non-district game vs. Stephenville is sure to make our Games Of The Week.

Chris Says: Waco La Vega is another one of those teams that I love to watch play. The Pirates are fun. The bulk of their starting lineups return so last year's 11-1 record is not a stretch again this year. Look for a solid season by WLV and a fun playoff run. I am looking forward to seeing them line up against some of the regional powers a few rounds in.
