- Mike Says: These teams are a combined 8-0 all-time and 4-0 this year in LSG Games Of The Week. Both of them won close Games Of The Week vs. Henderson and both have been having outstanding seasons. Gilmer is led by QB Tanner Barr (1,694 yards 14 TDs) and LB Demarco Boyd (79 tackles, 6 sacks). Even though Kilgore has been playing great, I will have to side with the home team. The BUCKEYES win it 24-23!!
- Chris Says: Gilmer dropped a game early in the year to Plano Prestonwood Christian, but we really have no way to evaluate their strength, so can't factor that game in. Both these teams however, have played their district foes and Kilgore has done a better job more often than Gilmer when you just look at points scored and allowed. When you factor in home field advantage, it is actually Gilmer that comes out slightly better. In district play, Gilmer is scoring quite a bit more than Kilgore (215-144) but they are giving up quite a bit more (116 vs 34.) So what does it all mean? Before home field, I would give the win to Kilgore, but the BUCKEYES win it 28-24!!!
Are you a fan of either team? Call the voicemail line and leave a message about the game (713) 568-6361. Tell everyone at your school to do the same – then listen in future Lone Star Gridiron Shows to hear them all!!!
