2013 Coaching Change: Early Longhorns
Old Head Coach: Brad Bowden -- Leaving for 2A Palacios. He led the Longhorns for the past 3 years to a 8-22 record. He has also been a head coach at San Angelo Grape Creek for 3 seasons going 8-22. He has also been an assistant at Brownwood, Aransas Pass, Skidmore-Tynan and Clifton.
New Head Coach: Kent Hawthorne -- Was an assistant at Refugio for the past two seasons. He has been a head coach at Cumby 2003-2007 going 24-27 and 2A Weimar 2008-2010 going 18-12. He also was an assistant at McCamey and Brownfield. His youngest son, Lynx was a star for Refugio during their 2011 Class 2A Division I state championship season and redshirted at Baylor last season.
Team News: The Longhorns are on a 5 year losing streak going 15-36 after going 32-9 in the previous 3 seasons.
