Allen vs. Southlake: 49-27 Allen

A game that pitted two top 5A rivals against each other Southlake was looking for revenge after the 24-0 loss they suffered last year, but they couldn’t find it thanks to QB Kyler Murray of Allen. Murray 17-24 for 466 Yds. passing with 3 TDs. All three TDs for Murray were over 70 yards. He also rushed for 80 Yds and 2 TDs. Exactly half of his passing yards went to WR Cole Carter who had 7 catches for 233 Yds. Southlake’s QB Ryan Agnew played well going 18-35 for 224 Yds, however 2 INTs put the Eagles in good field position.

Hebron vs. Abilene: 37-7 Hebron

A matchup that was supposed to be closer than 30 points had a tone set in the first quarter when Jamal Adams had a 71 Yd. TD run and Cedric Dale had a 77 Yd. punt return TD. Credit Hebron’s defense for only allowing 167 total yards and only 57 rushing yards in 37 attempts. However they didn't just shut down the Abilene running game they also ran all over this Abilene defense. RB Treyvon Hughes had 129 Yds on 12 attempts with 2 TDs and WR Jamal Adams had 2 carries for 119 Yds with another TD. Hebron did everything right offensively and defensively and deserve this blowout victory.

Lake Dallas vs. Richardson Pearce: 44-37 Lake Dallas

This game went back and forth between the passing game of Lake Dallas and the running game of Richardson Pearce. Lake Dallas QB Dagen Haehn played phenomenal going 18-32 for 243 Yds and 4 TDs with his only blemish being an interception. WR Josh Jackson was his main target having 9 catches for 212 Yds and all 4 TDs (including the 6-yard game winner). Pearce had an electric running game however, as RB Gjordan Dumas ran for 118 Yds on 18 carries for a TD and Geoffrey Nwarie who had 113 carries on 19 carries also with a TD, they got help from WR J.R Griffin who had a rushing TD on 72 Yds and 14 attempts in the end it wasn’t enough to defeat the passing game of Lake Dallas.

Skyline vs. The Woodlands: 33-30 Skyline

A game The Woodlands had in the first quarter after going up 21-6 was ripped away from the consistency by Skyline. In the first quarter The Woodlands had 3 TDs and looked to be in control however the Skyline defense adjusted and shutdown The Woodlands for the rest of the game. Skyline had a balanced attack that earned them a TD in every quarter and the eventual 2-yard run by RB Dalen Ward in OT that won them the game. On the flip side, The Woodlands only managed a field goal in the 2 & 3 quarter and one in OT as they could not find the endzone again in this OT thriller.

Aledo vs. Highland Park: 44-3 Aledo

The Tom Landry Classic is a dream for every team, but on Saturday it was a nightmare for Highland Park with the monster being Aledo. Aledo just ran Highland Park out of the $60 million stadium they came into. Aledo had a fluid running game that rushed 279 Yds on 48 carries with all 4 TDs, 3 of which came from Daythan Davis who was 2 yards shy of a 100-yard game. The Aledo defense manhandled the Highland Park running game which only saw 32 Yds on 22 attempts. They also toyed with QB Brooks Burgin who threw for 140 Yds but had 2 INTs and a fumble (which was held). With 172 Yds of total Yds Highland Park only mustered 3 point in the second quarter. This game was won on good-ole-fashion football, a fierce running game and a tight defense.
