Final Texas High School Football Stat Leaders 2016
As you know, Lone Star Gridiron rules the roost when it comes to keeping track of the top performers across the state. Currently, we list 45+ of the leading passers, rushers and receivers in the state. There is also a section on Private Schools.
Levelland's Nick Gerber stayed at the top of the passing leaders chart with 5,617 yards. He finished with a 604 yard lead over Gilmer's Aaron Brown. Robinson's Chase Allison finished in 3rd place while Odem's Michael Everett finished in 4th place. We have 46 passers listed with #46 having 3,069 yards. There were 7 passers over the 4,000 yard mark.
Silsbee's Calvin Tyler won the rushing title with 2,861 yards. El Paso Parkland running back Sophomore Deion Hankins came in 2nd place just 49 yards behind. It will be fun to see how far he can make it in the career record books. Mansfield's Kennedy Brooks came in 3rd place. State Champion quarterback Roshauud Paul of Bremond was the 4th most productive runner. We have 60 runners listed with #60 having 1,689 yards. There are 6 runners that have passed the 2,500 yard barrier.
Robinson's Braxton Ashcraft remained as the receiving leader with 2,090 yards. Richmond Foster's Ceedee Lamb moved into 2nd place with a strong playoff showing. Beeville Jones's Waydale Jones finished in 3rd place. We have 63 receivers listed with #63 having 1,099 yards. There are 5 receivers that are over the 1,600 yard mark.
