Idalou Hires Long After Winning The 2A DII Championship

2011 Coaching Change: Idalou Wildcats
Old Head Coach: Johnny Taylor -- Retiring after leading the Wildcats to a 189-64-3 record over the last 22 years. He retires on top as the Wildcats won the Class 2A DII State Championship last season. His teams have made the playoffs 16 times including the last 11 in a row. His son Chris is an assistant coach at La Vernia. Coach Taylor ranks #97 on the all-time coaching wins list.
New Head Coach: Don Long -- Long time defensive coordinator for the Wildcats. He has coached at Idalou for as long as Coach Taylor had been there...22 years.
Team News: The Wildcats are on a 11 year winning streak and have had 10+ win seasons 5 of last 6 years.
