Great Games – Week 7

Dallas Highland Park 41, Richardson Pearce 27
Dallas Highland Park quarterback Brady Burgin passed for 356 yards to help his coach Randy Allen win his 300th all-time game. Coach Allen becomes the 11th Texas high school football coach to post 300 victories. He has coached the Scots to a 147-16-0 record since 1999. Highland Park is now 7-0 overall and 4-0 in District 10-4A. Richardson Pearce falls to 2-5 and 0-4. Dallas Highland Park now leads this series 9-1 since 2000. Burgin now has 1,972 yards and 18 touchdowns passing for the season.

Corsicana 42, Terrell 7
Corsicana's quarterback DeVontay Bell ran for 188 yards and scored a touchdown to lead them to victory. Their defense also stepped up big by causing 5 turnovers. Corsicana is now 7-1 overall and 5-1 in District 15-4A play. Terrell fallas to 2-5 and 0-5. Bell now has 410 yards rushing and 5 touchdowns over the past 2 games.

Wimberley 49, Canyon Lake 14
The Wimberley Texans got 3 rushing touchdowns from Trinity Wilson and 3 total touchdowns from quarterback Brady Lambert during the victory. Lambert's favorite target Brennen Blakemore finished the night with 7 catches for 133 yards. He also intercepted a pass while playing defense. Wimberley is now 6-0 and 2-0 in District 26-3A. Canyon Lake falls to 6-1 and 1-1. The other big story in the game was the Texan defense holding Canyon Lake's star running back Zach Henshaw to 96 yards on 30 carries. For the season, Henshaw now has 1,398 yards on 179 carries and 19 touchdowns.

Waco 31, Killeen 21
The Waco Lions built an early 21-0 and then finished up with the 31-21 district 8-4A victory. The Lions are now 5-2 overall and 2-0 in district play. The Kangaroos are 5-2 and 1-1 on the season. Waco Running Back Darrell Harris finished the night with 24 carries for 323 yards and 2 TDs. For the season, Harris has 194 carries for 1,734 yards and 14 touchdowns. He is averaging 8.94 yards per carry.

Katy 52, Katy Mayde Creek 0
The Katy Tigers continued to roll as they scored on their first possessions. The Tigers are now 7-0 overall and 4-0 in district 19-5A. The Katy Mayde Creek Rams fall to 1-6 and 0-4 overall. Katy Wide Receiver Jordan Thompson caught 7 passes for 114 yards and 3 touchdowns in the game. For the season, he has 45 catches for 836 yards and 12 touchdwons.

Smithson Valley 41, San Antonio Alamo Heights 15
Smithson Valley's running back Lawrence Mattison ran for 208 yards and scored 2 touchdowns during the victory. This was Smithson Valley's head coach Larry Hill's 199th all-time victory. He now has an all-time coaching record of 199-62-0. Smithson Valley is now 7-0 overall and 3-0 in District 27-4A play. They have outscored their district opponents 112-18. Alamo Heights falls to 4-3 and 2-1.

Aledo 73, Fort Worth Boswell 30
The Aledo Bearcat offense put up 721 total yards during the contest. Aledo's Johnathan Gray ran for 243 yards on 14 carries and scored 6 touchdowns. Wide Receiver Michael Mann finished the night with 4 catches for 74 yards and 1 touchdown. Mann now has 119 receptions for 1,851 yards and 17 touchdowns for his career. Grays career numbers are 996 carries for 8,828 yards and 170 touchdowns for 1,028 total points.
