2013 Coaching Change: Lubbock Cooper Pirates
Old Head Coach: John Windham -- Will become the full-time Athletic Director. He steps down as head coach after leading the Pirates to a 80-70-1 record over the past 14 years. His 2001 team made the playoffs ending a 29 year playoff drought.
New Head Coach: Max Kattwinkel -- Was the offensive coordinator for Cooper during the past 6 seasons. He has also been an assistant coach at Shallowater, Post, Franklin and Petersburg. This will be his first head coaching position.
Team News: The Pirates are making this move in anticipation of moving to Class 4A during the next re-alignment. They missed the playoffs last year after losing 3 district games by a total of 3 points.
